This 150’ x 300’ campsite easement is part of the Northern Forest Canoe Trail and Connecticut River Paddlers Trail. The site is about seven river miles south of the DeBanville Landing in Bloomfield. The campsite contains a picnic table, composting privy, wayfinding signage, and a campsite journal. Originally owned by the Maine Central Railroad, the site looks out on a beautiful, granite bridge abutment situated in the middle of the river channel.
Public access is thanks to Bruce and Mary Sloat, who donated the easement on their land, making sure paddlers would always have a place to spend the night along this stretch of the Connecticut River.
This project made possible thanks to the support and partnership of:
The campsite is at Connecticut River mile 341 (sea to source). It is approximately seven miles south of the DeBanville Landing in Bloomfield. The old granite railroad trestle clearly marks the area of the site.
