Community Engagement Coordinator, VHCB AmeriCorps
Help prepare Vermont rivers and communities for the next flood disaster through river-focused outreach, education, conservation, and stewardship! Play a critical role in community resiliency by increasing public understanding of rivers through hosting river-themed events and creating communication materials. Cultivate strong relationships with communities and volunteers.
The Community Engagement Coordinator will:
- Develop river-themed educational materials and interactive activities that can be used with a wide range of audiences
- Contribute written and creative design skills to craft print newsletters, press releases, and digital communications that help people understand best practices for land management and share conservation success
- Plan and implement in-person and virtual educational events
- identify and engage volunteers, coordinate volunteer days, track volunteer hours and participation, and help recognize and thank volunteers.
Position begins January 13 and ends December 11, 2026. Your service will be in person the majority of the time, from field days and community events to meetings and co-working time at VRC’s downtown Montpelier office.
Position is Full Time (1720 hours). Based in Montpelier and surrounding area.
