Due to significant rain and flooding in most of Vermont on July 10th, with rains continuing on July 11th, currents are very strong. Also, most rivers are filled with debris, effluent, chemicals, fertilizers, etc. and are unsafe for swimming.

River Access Safety & Improvement Fund
Help improve the safety and visitor experience at nearly 50 favorite Vermont river access sites. Your gift will be used for a range of projects statewide – from providing signs to share critical safety and visitor information at swimming holes and boat launch sites, to engaging volunteers to keep trails and parking areas trash-free, to supporting communications efforts to help people understand the risks of recreating in and around rivers. Ultimately, your gift helps people of all ages and backgrounds to safely enjoy refreshing swimming holes, quiet paddles, and shady riverside strolls.
