This Fall we welcomed a new intern to the team, Emily. Who will be working on invasive species management in support of Wood Turtle nesting sites! She has been amazing to work with and we are excited to share more on this project.

Emily’s Bio:
My name is Emily and I’m super excited to be VRC’s Fall 2025 Intern! I’m currently a senior studying Environmental Studies and Forestry at the University of Vermont. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my classes in the forest, learning the names of trees and shrubs, but I’m ready to expand that knowledge to our rivers and the fauna that call them home. With VRC I’ll be familiarizing myself with the turtles through observation and tracking, removing invasive plants from their nesting sites, and engaging with involved community members about their careers and VRC’s impact. I can’t wait to get out in the field and make a difference for wildlife on VRC protected land!
