Montpelier City Council Approves Moving Ahead with Confluence River Park

September 27, 2019

Thank you to those who showed your support for the vision for Montpelier’s proposed Confluence River Park. This was a big week for the future of the Park, as Vermont River Conservancy and Milone & MacBroom presented the final conceptual design for the Park in a public meeting on Tuesday night (video recording found here), and sought City Council’s approval to move forward into the next design phase with a commitment of City staff to the fundraising and design process. VRC is thrilled with the Council’s approval and commitment of City staff to the Confluence River Park, in moving the design from 10% completion to 75% in this next phase. VRC is grateful for the enormous amount of community support and participation in the process thus far. We look forward to working with residents, visitors and City staff and officials as we carry this vision of a public park at the confluence of the North Branch and main stem of the Winooski Rivers to the next phase!  Please see pictures below of the final conceptual design, “Concept E.” Please find a pdf of the September 24th, 2019 public presentation here.
