Today we welcomed Remy Crettol and Hayley Kolding to our conservation team. They join Conservation Director Erin De Vries, for the first time giving VRC the power of a 3-person conservation team.
Remy will oversee our easement monitoring efforts, manage on-the-ground site improvements like trails and signage, and work with conservation partners to improve river access sites statewide. An ecologist and natural resource manager, he brings with him years of experience via his time with Winooski Valley Parks District and Winooski Conservation District. (If you want to get out to help monitor easements this summer or volunteer on a work crew, sign-up to volunteer!)
Hayley will be based in the Brattleboro area, bringing our “Face the River” efforts to southern Vermont. She’ll be leading education and outreach activities in Brattleboro and upstream communities, working to surface future conservation opportunities, and then shifting towards project implementation in future years. She’s an educator and botanist, and has experience digital mapping to guide strategies – all skills we’re excited to bring to our work across southern Vermont and statewide.
Together, Erin, Remy, and Hayley give VRC a truly statewide presence, creating the opportunity to multiply our impact in every corner of the Green Mountain State.
