North Branch Cascades Volunteer Day
North Branch Cascades, a flat 1-mile trail on the Worcester/Elmore Town Line, is one of Central Vermont’s most beloved gems. Unfortunately, due to flooding, parts of the trail have been closed since 2024. We are nearing the finish line to get the trail back in tip-top shape, and we need some extra help to fully reopen the park.
Come volunteer with us! Meet other people, get to know this beautiful trail, and lend a hand. All ages, abilities, and experience levels are welcome!
North Branch Cascades: Thursday, November 19
Details
Date: Thursday, November 19 (rain date: Friday, November 20)
Time: 1-4 p.m.
Location: North Branch Cascades, south parking lot (1181 VT-12, Worcester, VT 05682)
Please bring: Work gloves if you have them, layers for working outdoors, a full water bottle
Starting from the southern lot, we will:
- Assemble two new picnic tables
- Tour the brand-new southernmost staircase down to the last falls, which we will need help naming!
- Add important new signage
Then we’ll take a hike to the northern end of the trail, with breaks to sweep and inspect benches along the way. At the northern section, we will tour the improvements, including the new parking lot and restored stonework.

Thank you to AARP Vermont for supporting this project!
