DO NOT SWIM! Vermont waters are currently unsafe. Due to significant rain and flooding in most of Vermont on July 10th, with rains continuing on July 11th, currents are very strong. Also, most rivers are filled with debris, effluent, chemicals, fertilizers, etc. and are unsafe for swimming.

Welcome Megan Walker!

We are thrilled to welcome Megan Walker to our Board of Directors! Our board plays a key role in helping us protect and restore rivers throughout the state by establishing policies, securing funding to help the organization thrive, and providing leadership. Megan will expand the reach of our organization and bring a new, fresh, perspective to conversations at board meetings.

Megan Walker

Megan is a Quality Assurance professional in the global feed industry and brings 10 years of experience in the agricultural sector focused on continuous improvement, compliance, and resource management. She lives with her partner in Highgate Springs on Carman Brook Farm, situated in the Champlain Lowlands ecoregion. The farm has sustained five generations and supports the organic maple industry. Megan enjoys biking, fishing, gardening, and exploring the many natural wonders of Vermont. She joined the board in 2024 and is grateful to foster opportunities in conservation and nature immersion.
