DO NOT SWIM! Vermont waters are currently unsafe.
Due to significant rain and flooding in most of Vermont on July 10th, with rains continuing on July 11th, currents are very strong. Also, most rivers are filled with debris, effluent, chemicals, fertilizers, etc. and are unsafe for swimming.

Lia Chasar Macroinvertebrate Sampling Workshop, Guilford
Have you always been curious about macroinvertebrates? Even if you’ve never heard about them, this workshop will be an opportunity to learn more about this important aspect of stream ecology. During this workshop, you will collect and learn about these organisms, such as nymphs, larvae, dragonflies, crayfish, or snails. Make sure to wear appropriate clothing, as there will be an option to wade in the stream. We will meet on Saturday, October 14 from 3-4 p.m. at Green River Meadows, 741 River Road, Guilford. In case of heavy rain, we will postpone the event to Sunday.
