Belknap River Corridor Easement and Campsite Bloomfield, Vermont Nulhegan River

Belknap River Corridor Easement and Campsite

At the confluence of the East Branch and Main Nulhegan Rivers, this site protects nearly a mile of shoreland. This easement provides important protections for trees and shrubs along the river, which provide important habitat for area wildlife.

A campsite – marked by a small sign with a tent symbol – offers paddlers enjoying the Northern Forest Canoe Trail the chance to spend the night below towering pines. There is a box rivy and picnic table.

In addition to an easement that secures public access to the campsite, an additional easement makes sure that the river will always be able to run its course, allowing the river to meander and bend across the landscape as it has for millions of years.
