DO NOT SWIM! Vermont waters are currently unsafe. Due to significant rain and flooding in most of Vermont on July 10th, with rains continuing on July 11th, currents are very strong. Also, most rivers are filled with debris, effluent, chemicals, fertilizers, etc. and are unsafe for swimming.

Rood River Corridor Easement Lincoln, Vermont New Haven River

Rood River Corridor Easement

Ron Rood was a Vermont author, naturalist, and commentator on Vermont Public Radio. When he passed away in 2001, his family worked with Vermont River Conservancy to protect this land — an enduring way to honor his love of land and wildlife. The easement here protects a beautiful upland meadow and forested slope, all overlooking a rare wetland complex along the upper New Haven River.

Right next to this property, the Town of Lincoln worked with Vermont River Conservancy to protect an additional 10-acre River Corridor Easement.
