Thrailkill River Corridor Easement Rochester, Vermont White River

Thrailkill River Corridor Easement

In the heart of Rochester Village, the easement here protects open space sandwiched between the White River, town ballfields, Rochester Elementary School, and the village center. The easement allows the landowners to continue haying the field, but also protects 50-feet of forested riverbank that provides excellent edge habitat, shade to keep water temperatures lower for fish and wildlife, and roots to hold keep the riverbank from washing downstream.
